West Florida Sports & Medicine
The Athletic Health Association of West Florida is a team of Orthopaedic physicians and licensed athletic trainers working together to improve the health care of athletes in our community by providing comprehensive sports injury management and education. Services/Programs include:
- Pre-preparation
Physicals are typically held in July for fall sports and October for winter and spring sports. If you are interested in having your team participate, call (850) 494-6177. - Practice Visitation
Our licensed athletic trainers make weekly visits on a scheduled basis to area schools to assist injury management, follow-up and rehabilitation. - Physical Referrals
Our licensed athletic trainers can assist with referrals to physicians at West Florida Hospital for all sports related injuries. The athletic trainers are then able to follow through on this campus to help your athletes return to peak performance. - Sports Injury Rehabilitation
Therapy for injuries and post surgical rehabilitation when ordered by a physician can be provided by our licensed athletic trainers. - Event Coverage
Our licensed athletic trainers attend athletic events for several area schools when the schedule permits. - National Athletic Testing Program(NATP)
The purpose of the testing is to establish a baseline from which athletes can work to improve athletic ability and prevent sports injuries. Retesting will be conducted annually.
